Our hosts, Claire and Sam Beaumont, will guide us through how the strategic integration of bale grazing helps with their spring grass management. As well as providing a source of nutrition, bale grazing also improves the farm’s biodiversity by using carefully selected, species-rich bales to enrich the ecosystem.
In addition to hearing about their farming methods, we'll also look at the financial aspects, shedding light on the diverse payment options available. We will hear about the deliberate decision to calve down in May and their calculated approach to fit with their ecosystem.
As well as exploring the technical aspects of bale grazing, we will also discuss how Sam and Claire manage public perception and foster relationships with national and local authorities, within the picturesque landscape of the Lake District.
Please note that there is limited parking at the farm, so please car share if possible.
We look forward to seeing you there.
