Organised by Cranfield University and the University of Exeter with the Farm Safety Foundation in Mind Your Head Week 2023. Work from an ESRC research grant awarded to the Universities of Reading, Exeter, and Sheffield.

Hear from the lead authors of up to* 7 papers on farmer wellbeing published in a special issue of Sociologia Ruralis. Live and pre-recorded presentations will summarise key research findings on issues related to farmer wellbeing, including:

1. Gender and farmer mental health

2. Loneliness and farmer mental health

3. Support interventions for farming mental health

4. The impact of COVID-19 on farming mental health

Insights come from around the world.

After short presentations from each lead author, a discussion session will invite expert attendees from mental health charities, policy, farmer organisations, chaplains, counsellors, and farmers, to share their views on the key priorities for research and action in the area of farmer wellbeing.
