BOFIN was founded by Tom Allen-Stevens in 2020 to bring together farmers who want to get involved in on-farm trials and test out innovations themselves.
The network currently has over 600 members with at least 60% of our members being farmers who carry out their own on-farm trials and share their results, seeking scientifically robust ways to progress their farm practice. The rest of the membership are scientists who carry out this work, innovators, knowledge exchange managers.
BOFIN members are particularly keen to be involved with technological innovations at an early stage in their development. Crop innovations represent a key focus for BOFIN. The BOFIN model has created a ‘Knowledge Cluster’ that acts as a communication channel and opens up a tiered approach to how farmers are engaged.
BOFIN is involved with a variety of different projects, all with aim of creating a more sustainable future for farming. Click on the project names below to find out more, stay updated, and learn how to get involved.
