Farmers and landowners are under increasing pressure to protect and monitor biodiversity, however the skills and time needed to identify species can prove a huge barrier. This exciting event will explore how farmers, advisors and farm-cluster coordinators can be supported to upscale the monitoring of on-farm biodiversity, through collaborating with the local community and conservation organisations.
During the day, attendees will learn about a number of ongoing monitoring partnerships and will get the opportunity to feedback on what farmers need in order to build citizen science monitoring partnerships on farmland.
Speaker topics will include:
- UK butterfly monitoring schemes - Butterfly Conservation
- Models for long-term monitoring partnerships on farmland - The Selbourne Partnership
- Farmer needs for biodiversity monitoring - University of Reading
- Open Farm Sunday - Linking Environment And Farming
In-person attendees will recieve a FREE wildlife guide for UK butterflies and moths.
The event will also be livestreamed.
