Pioneering innovation, technology and precision engineering for UK farming.

We are the Agricultural Engineering Precision Innovation (Agri-EPI) Centre. We accelerate the research, development and adoption of precision agriculture and engineering technology.

Sustainably boosting productivity, reducing emissions and increasing profitability across the whole agri-food chain, through our world-class R&D facilities, academic and industry partners, we explore how to optimise the performance of highly complex agricultural production and processing systems.

One of four UK agri-tech centres, we also provide a testbed for the next generation of farming techniques and technology, including sensors, imaging and robotics. Our commercial field trials taking place within a UK-wide network of 28 satellite farms.

We are CHAP, one of four UK Agri-Tech Innovation Centres. We bring together scientists, farmers, advisors and pioneers to advance crop productivity and yield around the world.

As the population grows, so do our demands on the planet. Managing this resource has never been so important. Since it was founded in 1901, Harper has been designed to meet this challenge. Set on a 494 hectare farm, we are the leading specialist university tackling the future development of our planet's food production, processing, animal sciences, engineering, land management and sustainable business.

Many technologies now exist to monitor land at a range from scales, from hand-held sensors and simple cameras, through tractor mounted sensors, drones, aeroplanes through to satellites.

Precision farming involves the use of GPS, sensing and control technologies to use spatial data to manage soils, crops and livestock.

The Farm Tech Circle, powered by Agri-EPI Centre, is a platform for farmers, growers and producers to discover and connect on topics that focus on enhancing the profitability and sustainability of agriculture. Through thought pieces, newsletters, on-farm events, and peer to peer networking opportunities, Agri-EPI aims to provide Farm Tech Circle members with a community who support each other in their technological growth and closes the loop between farmer challenges and innovations that can respond to them.
