Tesco-WWF innovation fund
Tesco and WWF are working together to halve the environmental impact of the average UK shopping basket
With food production responsible for around a quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions and at the centre of many other environmental issues, Tesco and WWF have come together to make it easier for everyone to access an affordable, healthy, and sustainable diet.
We recognise that some of the environmental issues facing the food system require innovations to unblock barriers and drive transformative progress, so as part of our partnership, we’ve launched the Tesco & WWF Sustainability Innovation Fund.
We are seeking innovators and scale-up companies capable of delivering proven environmental innovations in partnership with suppliers operating in Tesco’s supply chain. Successful applicants to the Fund will have the opportunity to pitch for funding for a demonstration project.
We are looking for late-stage innovations focused on sustainable agriculture solutions. We define a late-stage innovation as an established innovation with proven benefits – e.g. beyond scientific research and pilot testing but not yet widely adopted. Your innovation should be ready to roll-out with a Tesco supplier in a collaborative project of 12 months or less. Each project can apply to the Tesco & WWF Sustainability Innovation Fund for a contribution of up to £150,000 towards the project budget and applicants should also be willing to participate in programme communications.
Following your application, we will shortlist suitable candidates for matching with Tesco suppliers. If selected by a supplier, you will have the opportunity to jointly pitch to the Innovation Fund for funding for your project.
Could your proven innovation help make a difference?
