Sheep Breeders Round Table (SBRT) is a biennial technical conference for sheep breeders, farmers, academics, consultants and industry representatives. This year’s theme will be ‘Breeding sheep for a greener future’ and the event takes place 15–17 November 2024.

SBRT is an industry initiative, with collaboration from all levy boards including AHDB, Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC), Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) and AgriSearch combined with support from the National Sheep Association (NSA).

The conference is a platform for showcasing how we can become more resilient and be amongst the best sheep producers in the world.

If you have an interest in sheep production, this event attracts a large audience of progressive farmers and breeders, combined with academic researchers and industry specialists sharing their experience, thoughts and ideas.

We have speakers from across the UK and internationally discussing topics such as:

  • Use of genetics to breed for different environments, meat quality and wool fibre
  • Breeding for the end market with comparisons from beef/dairy sectors
  • Marketing our genetics and ram buyer habits
  • Genomic focus on the future for breeding
  • Advances in reproductive technology
  • Considerations for breeding programmes within different sheep systems.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the conference.
